Was told I was not progressing!
by Overrated inyou're doing everything you can, meeting attendance, field circus, helping out where you can and you are told your not progressing!?!
as anyone had that happen to them in the "trooth "?.

It was a thing in the late sixties, early seventies. If you weren't 'progressing towards baptism' after studying the Truth Book, the time remaining was so short that they had to cut you loose and move on. "Stay alive until seventy five", etc..

Good door sign for JWs door knocking.

I'm told that door knocking is banned because of Covid. 'Field Service' is getting together on Zoom to write letters to prospective recruits. Don't ask me how they find names and addresses to write to, but I would like to know.

The (IN)Consistent teaching about VACCINATIONS from JW leaders
by Terry invaccinations.
how many deaths were instigated which could be prevented?watchtower policies against vaccines left faithful sheep vulnerable to horrible consequences.antitoxins and vaccines against diphtheria, tetanus, anthrax, cholera, plague, typhoid, tuberculosis, and more were developed through the 1930s.. 1921 - "vaccination never prevented anything and never will, and is the most barbarous practice" - golden age oct 12, 1921, p.17.
1923 - "vaccination, summed up, is the most unhygienic, barbaric, filthy, abhorrent, and most dangerous system of infection known.

In the early 1960s our family had to be vaccinated to be allowed into a country where the Need Was Great, (yeah, right), and Dad wrote to the bOrg and got permission for the vaccinations. Without their approval, I doubt we would have arrived in the country. Whether, or not, he really needed to do that, I don't know, but I remember my parents being anti-vaxers when it wasn't a requirement and that it was because they joined the church in an era when vaccines were banned and they were still hanging onto the idea that vaccinations weren't really ok with Jehovah.

Our Granny Grace was a sweetheart, I loved her dearly, even though she thought I was a naughty boy :D
I forget her user name. As she got older she was forgetting her password and needed our help logging in, so I hope she will forgive me for forgetting her user name.

Watchtower thoughts on Jazz
by David.L.Henson inwomen!
don't listen to jazz!.
"new orleans jazz has a primitive tom-tom rhythm that does a single woman's peace of mind no good, is one of the insane claims from the tower about the harmful jazz music.. the fact is - if you check up the writings of the tower - the only safe music is the "kingdom songs" - and those do kill your brain if you love music:-)) .

I know a recruited JW who got rid of most of his vinyl collection over three decades ago, then regretted it later.
I forget whether he burned it or sold it, but I remember that that was a major decision that he thought he had to make at the time and that he didn't offer me a chance to choose any of his collection and told me what he had done after it was gone. I still have all of my vinyl from that era and can still play it. Some of the vinyl that he got rid of was rare thirty years ago.

Need help...Resurrection JW beliefs from the 50'6 and 60's.
by Snoozy inwas talking with a gal that is most likely going back to the religion after 20 or 30 years.
we got into a discussion about having babies after "armageddon ".
she was talking about being normal ( she is practically bedridden but only in her 50's.

AFAIK it hasn't changed. When I was young, the resurrected didn't marry, so the best outcome was to stay alive til '75 so that you had a chance of a normal sex/married life, children, etc.. Second best was that your partner died, but you survived and could marry in the New World and make perfect babies. Third best, was that you died and were resurrected and were not able to marry anyone, including your ex partner, or even fiddle with their naughty bits, without being condemned to everlasting death.
I'm sure most older JWs have had this old doctrine drummed into them, the same as they tried to drum it into me, and now they have to find a way to deal with it in their last days.
